Be deaf when people tell you that you can’t….

December 16, 2019 Satish

It was a first sunny morning after a rainy season. All frogs were out of their ponds to have a sunbath after a long time. They gathered together in groups on children, youngsters and oldies. Tiny children frogs were enjoying their games, and oldies were discussing about the rainy days and their sufferings.

Away from these worries of sufferings and childish games was a group of youngsters keenly watching at the top of hill facing towards East, few miles away from their water pond.

One youngster exclaimed, “Look, at the top of hill, a flag is hoisting in the air !”
Second replied, “Yes, I wish we could reach at the top of hill and see how world looks from the top”.
Third youngster in enthusiasm said, “Don’t worry bro, your wish may come true. And I have a plan to turn it into reality”.
“Really ?” asked second youngster looking at him.
“Yes” said third youngster. “I have a plan in my mind. We will organize a Marathon to climb on top of the hill. The winner will get a prize”.

And all youngsters agreed upon this plan. A day and time was decided. As the date for the competition was announced, the news spread everywhere and crowd in large numbers gathered around the starting point of Marathon to see this interesting competition and cheer on the contestants. The crowd did not really believe any of these little young frogs were going to make it to the top of the hill. Yet they were curious…

The competition began, the frogs quickly started to ascend and the crowd cheered!
As a few moments passed, someone from the crowd shouted, “Not a chance that they will succeed! The hill is too high!”

Another spectator said, “Yes, they will never make it to the top. It’s way too difficult!”
Some of the contestants listened to the crowd and thought, “Yes, the crowd is right. It is too difficult for us to climb on top of a hill. None of our forefathers had dared to do this, then who are we to dare it ?”

And after some time, some of the tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one… tired… exhausted… But the race continued… as those who still had the fight left, passionately continued to climb higher and higher…
In the excitement and anxiety the crowd continued to yell, “It is too difficult. No one will make it!”

More tiny frogs got tired and gave up. They all continued to give up one by one, until there was only ONE little young frog left in the competition who continued to climb higher and higher and higher…
This one wouldn’t give up!

This one tiny young frog who, after a big effort was the only one who reached the top! This little soul was the winner! He made it! He got the glory! Naturally, everyone wanted to know how this one tiny young frog managed to pull it off when every other contestant gave up. Everyone wanted to know how this tiny frog had found the strength to reach this goal that everyone else thought it was impossible.

So, they interviewed the winner and asked questions. The winner young frog would look here and there for every question they asked. The interviewer was confused, he tried to ask question in a different way, but no response from the frog.
Someone from the crowd, an elder brother of winner frog shouted, “He is deaf, he can’t hear you ! Indeed he can’t hear anything.”
It turned out that the winner was deaf. And that was the reason for his Victory !

“Believing in negative thoughts is the single greatest obstruction to success.”

Be deaf when people tell you that you can’t fulfill your dreams and goals.
