“Mama ! Listen.. the ascending sound of leaves, someone’s coming to us.” – said little girl to her mother in a scary tone. “Afraid not my dear, he’s your father. And look what he has in his hands !” – replied mother.

In dark and deep woods there lived a tribal family. They would survive on hunting and things they get from forest. Each day would be a new challenge for them. Manjhi was the head of the family bearing whole responsibility on his shoulder. One early morning before the dawn Manjhi went for hunting, till late night t
here was no signs of his return. His family was worried, as they had no source to know for Manjhi’s wellness. They could only wait looking at the path of his return.

Suddenly in the scary sounds of forest a little girl listen’s crackling sound of leaves. Her heart beats increased with every step ascending towards them. Little girl was happy for her father’s return. Manjhi had a golden deer in his hands. So beautiful and shining his skin was, so unique and never seen before ! Little girl could not wait herself to hold golden deer in her hands. She started playing with golden deer and was very happy playing with him. Manjhi decided to pet golden deer. Days passed and golden deer was growing along with Manjhi’s daugher.

With passing time was also growing Manjhi’s worries and problems for fulfilling his family’s basic needs. One day few people passing by the forest saw this golden deer, and they were so astonished to watch golden deer first time in their life, playing with little girl. They thought of gifting the golden deer to their King and make him happy.
“Where’s you dad ?” – asked one man to little girl.
“There he is, cutting the woods.” – girl replied.
They went to Manjhi and asked for Golden deer in return of money.
“Sorry Sir ! I can’t sell him, my daughter would not live without him.” – Manjhi refused to give deer as he didn’t want to hurt his daughter.
“No problem, but if you are in need of money, you can gift golden deer to our King to get big reward.” – said one man and they went to King.

They talked to king about the beauty of golden deer. King had everything in his life but unsatisfied. The King became restless for golden deer, he thought of Manjhi, how lucky he is who has golden deer with him, I wish I could have that deer. King went to Manjhi with his people to get golden deer.
“You are so lucky, you have golden deer with you. You might be happy in your life.” – said king to Manjhi. “Since when I heard about it I became restless to get it.”
“Ohh.. King ! I thought you have everthing in your life and you are living happily, aren’t you ?” – asked Manjhi.
Replied King – “No, I am not.. but aren’t you happy too Manjhi ?”
“No My Lord, I have golden deer but I don’t have money even to fulfill my basic needs.” – replied Manjhi.
King felt bad about Manjhi’s condition and gave him some money and turned his feet towards his palace.
“Wait, My Lord, you can take this golden deer to your palace.” – said Manjhi.
“No Manjhi, I don’t think this golden deer is the cause for my happiness, your daughter will be more happy to have him than me.”

And king went back to his palace thinking about illusion of happiness.

Every person thinks by looking at other’s belongings, possessions and wealth that he is happy. And he will be happy like other person if he gets wealth like others. But he seldom notices the grief other person is suffering with.
Everyone thinks – “I wish I could get good looking spouse like others, luxury car & home like others! ” to become happy, and they fail to notice what good things they have.

All are in illusion that others are happy and he is the only person suffering in this world !

It is not your belongings that make you happy, it’s the outlook you have towards your belonging !

One person with single eye curses God for losing his one eye and other person with single eye praises God for saving his one eye so that he can still see the world.

It’s your thinking that makes you happy and not other people or circumstances !
