Once an injured Lioness gave birth to a little cub & died under the tree in a deep forest. A Lion Cub was unaware of this fact that his mother was died after his birth. He looked around with a fear when he heard some strange noise of a group of animals. Hiding behind the trees in haste he looked towards the direction of sound.

It was a flock of Sheep passing by the jungle in search of fine grass to eat. There were lot of Sheeps along with their lambs who were dancing in their mood, unaware of the face of death in the form of wild animals. A lion Cub was happy to see the dancing lambs and Sheeps feeding milk to their lambs.

A Cub too was hungry, he ran towards and Sheep looking with a hope of milk he stood by. Sheep felt sorry for the Cub and she took him near and feed him with her milk. A Lion Cub thought she is his mother and he started following Sheeps.

He would go wherever they go, he would stay wherever they would stay, he would eat whatever they would eat, he would sleep the way Sheeps sleep, he would drink the way they drink. He walked like them, talked like them, eat like them, speak like them. Time passed and he grewed up but like a Sheep.

Whenever any wild animal would attack a flock, a Lion Cub would run along with the Sheeps in a fear to save his life. The wild animals would get confused, why is this lion Cub running away ?

And Once it so happened that one day a big Lion wandering in search of food saw the flock of Sheeps. He ran behind Sheeps to catch them. Sheeps started running to save their lives.

A Lion Cub too ran too fast to save his life. A big Lion was just about to catch a Sheep and what he saw was a strange thing he had ever seen in his life. A Lion Cub in the flock of Sheep was running away from him to save his life.

Big Lion thought, "Isn't it strange ? Why is this Cub afraid of me ?" And big Lion pounced upon a Cub and caught him.

A Cub was too afraid and he cried aloud, "Please leave me, do not eat me, please let me go".

A big Lion looked at a Cub and said, "Behold, why are you so afraid of me like Sheeps, I ain't gonna eat you. Don't be afraid of me and stop crying !

You are not a Sheep, you are a Lion like me." Saying so a big Lion took a Cub near a pond of fresh water and said, "Look down in the pond and look at your face. Doesn't your face look like as of mine ? Don't you look like me ?"

A Cub was surprised to see his face looked same as of big Lion.

A Lion Cub blurt out, "Yeah, I look like you !"

"Behold", said big Lion, "Not only you look like me but also you can roar like me." and he roared aloud.

A Lion Cub tried to roar loudly but nothing else than "Baaa... Baaa..." could come out of his throat.

"How is it possible ? Can't you hear my Baaa... Baaa... Though I look like you, I can't become like you. Leave me and let me join the flock of Sheeps."

Big Lion roared aloud, "Come on, do not give up, try again you can roar like me". And this time with full confidence and energy a Lion Cub roared aloud. He was astonished at his own sound that filled the forest with fear.

"That it is ! It is this who you are. You are not amongst the Sheeps, you belong to the group of Lions, you are the King of Jungle."

Yeah, this is not just a story of a Lion Cub, but it's everyone's story. We too live Sheepish way until we realise what we are ? And who we are ? What potientials do we possess ?

Sheepish way is to follow what everyone follows, to live how everyone leaves, to fear what everyone fears off, to run away from what everyone runs from. Until you realise Who and What you are, you will be one amongst Sheeps.

In the world's broad field of battle,
    In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle !
Be a hero in the strife !

This is the teaching of Bhagavad Geeta & Upanishads(Vedas). You are not born to live like Sheeps.
After studying Bhagavad Geeta & Upanishadas(Vedas), Swami Vivekananda says,
"You may meditate on whatever you wish, but I shall meditate on the heart of a lion. That gives strength."
